Get The Fork Out with The Yacht Chef, Dean Harrison

My guest on the first episode of "Get the Fork Out" is with Dean Harrison. He is known as The Yacht Chef on Instagram. @theyachtchef We got together for a chat on some of the basics of provisioning and some of our best and worst stories of gathering ingredients while in the far corners of the world. Dean has a good sized following on social media because of his Instagram stories taking people through the ups and downs of life as a yacht chef. He'll do a couple of stories on cooking techniques, then a quick break time swim off of the yacht somewhere with clear blue water. Maybe there are no guests on board and the crew all go out for dinner and adult beverages somewhere exotic. It's a great follow regardless if you're already in the industry or not. Dean is always entertaining. Also as a comical twist of fate, I'm doing the first episode in Deans galley on Arience while he is in the Mexican sun. Luckily me resume was selected off of the pile to rotate with Dean on this busy charter boat. We're both pumped to get rotation during COVID times and it's been fun asking him questions and talking shit when he's meant to be on holiday. Disclaimer, he's not proclaiming to be "THE" Yacht Chef, he just grabbed the handle before the rest of us yacht chefs thought about snatching it up. Well played sir, well played.
