Sometimes you don't need a week—you just need 24 hours and a plan. Right after wrapping up the ElkShape Elk Immersion Experience, I jumped in the truck and pointed it toward Montana. The mission? Make every minute count. First stop: Montana Knife Company. Then it's straight into the backcountry to check two trail cameras that have been soaking for over a year. We backpack deep into elk country, glass up a pile of bulls, hang a fresh camera to keep tabs on the herd heading into September, and wrap up the trip in Bozeman where I finally get my GoFast Camper installed and ready for another season of chasing elk.
