A new TV commercial series has begun in which Nakamura Tomoya rediscovers the appeal of Kirin Ichiban Shibori! Don't miss the father-son exchange between him and his father-in-law, played by Eiji Okuda, who is a "Kirin Ichiban Shibori lover," as well as the heartwarming exchange with the proprietress of a traditional Japanese restaurant, played by Keiko Toda! The new TV commercials, "With the Father-in-Law" and "With the Proprietress," will begin airing sequentially on February 5, 2024! In this new communication, the protagonist, Nakamura Tomoya, rediscovers the reason for its deliciousness through his encounters with his father-in-law (Eiji Okuda), who is a big fan of Kirin Ichiban Shibori, and the proprietress of the traditional Japanese restaurant (Keiko Toda). Through these two TV commercials, the message is conveyed: "If you're going to drink, you might as well drink a good beer."*1 The "With the Father-in-Law" commercial begins with Nakamura, visiting his wife's parents' house and feeling confused among his mother-in-law, wife, and sister-in-law, when his father-in-law, holding a bottle of Ichiban Shibori, asks, "Would you like a drink?" "What is the best thing about Ichiban Shibori?" Nakamura asks, and as he listens to his father-in-law's excited explanation of what it is, his perspective on Ichiban Shibori, a drink he's previously enjoyed without much thought, begins to change. What words does Nakamura utter to his father-in-law, whose love for Ichiban Shibori is unstoppable? The "With the Landlady" commercial begins with Nakamura visiting a traditional Japanese restaurant alone for the first time in his life. Along with a stew made with Ichiban dashi stock, the landlady offers him a generous glass of Ichiban Shibori, saying, "Because it's the best..." Taking a sip and rediscovering its deliciousness, Nakamura tells the landlady, "I feel like I got a great deal,"*2 and joyous laughter fills the restaurant. While still tense during conversations at his wife's parents' home and tense up in the unique atmosphere of the traditional Japanese restaurant he visits alone, Nakamura rediscovers the deliciousness of Ichiban Shibori through his interactions with his father-in-law and the landlady, and before he knows it, time is flowing. Don't miss this new TV commercial! Despite this being their first time working together, Nakamura and Okuda developed a close friendship throughout the shoot. During a break, the topic of their real-life sons-in-law came up. To the question, "What do you talk about?", Okuda replied, "We often talk about movies while drinking together," to which Nakamura exclaimed in surprise, "That's exactly what we're talking about in this commercial!" They also discovered that they were both born in the year of the tiger, and Okuda commented, "Maybe that's why we get along so well," to which Nakamura beamed. The scene after they stepped out onto the terrace was particularly full of heartwarming shots that highlighted their chemistry, and even included a moment where Okuda unconsciously blurted out, "I'm so happy." The director had a pleasant dilemma over which of the many OK takes to use. During the interview, Okuda shared a lovey-dovey story about his grandson.
