How to add a winch to a hydraulic shop press, no welding!
In this video, I added a boat winch to raise and lower the table/bed/deck of my 30t hydraulic press. I have see this on other presses and decided to upgrade mine. I did this with some low cost pulleys, readi rod (threaded rod), nuts, cable clamps, and a hand crank mechanism. No welding needed, just a drill to make your holes. I drilled and tapped holes for the winch but you could use a bolt and nut and it would work just as well. This is an easy DIY upgrade for anyone with a harbor freight or princess auto press.
