Day 1-2 | Lahore to Naran on Bikes | Bike Breakdown, Traffic & Mountain Ride | Hunza Tour Series

I was riding solo on my modified GS while Faisal Bhai and Samar Bhai were together on the second bike. Day 1 started from Lahore after fueling up around 1:30 PM. We crossed Gujranwala, took our first tea break, changed into winter gear because of the freezing weather, and continued toward Jhelum. Everything was going smoothly until my bike suddenly stopped self-starting near Jhelum. Since my bike is heavily modified and doesn’t have a kick system anymore, things became stressful very quickly. We spent almost 5 hours on the roadside checking wiring, relay connections, and troubleshooting the issue. After guidance from Shahbaz Bhai (Pak Rider) and some help from ChatGPT, we finally discovered the problem — the self relay wiring was connected incorrectly. We somehow push-started the bike and reached Rawalpindi where another challenge was waiting for us: Friday closures, unavailable mechanics, and insane traffic. Eventually we found a heavy bike mechanic who fixed the relay and corrected the wiring completely. But the struggle still wasn’t over. Rawalpindi traffic during office hours felt worse than Lahore. It took us nearly 3 hours just to cross toward Taxila. Exhausted, hungry, and mentally drained, we pushed through Khanpur, Haripur, and finally reached Abbottabad late at night where we took a hotel and rested for a few hours. Day 2 started around Abbottabad after getting engine oil, supplies, noodles, and green tea for the trip because this time we were carrying a small cooking setup with us. From Abbottabad we crossed Mansehra via bypass and headed toward Balakot. As soon as the mountain ascent started, the entire atmosphere changed. Cold air, steep roads, and proper northern views finally made it feel like the tour had truly begun. Around 5 PM we reached the beautiful Kiwai Waterfall where we relaxed for almost an hour, took photos, cinematic shots, and enjoyed pakoras with hot tea. After sunset we continued toward Naran in complete darkness through the mountain roads. By around 9 PM we finally entered Naran. After all the breakdowns, delays, stress, freezing weather, and nonstop riding, reaching Naran felt like a huge achievement. We parked our bikes at Moon Hotel, ate a proper meal after an exhausting ride, explored the market for a while, and finally crashed into bed completely exhausted. This was the beginning of our Hunza adventure.
