Why clean the throttle body? The Prado 120 uses a closed-type forced crankcase ventilation system to reduce emissions. This means that small amounts of oil vapor and combustion chamber gases escape from the engine crankcase during operation, and a small amount of dust passes through the air filter (especially if dirty). All of this creates an oil-dust flow that settles on the walls of the intake manifold and the throttle body. Therefore, the throttle body should be cleaned at least every 50,000 kilometers. For cleaning, you'll need a rag, carburetor cleaner, a 10mm socket, and a small container.
