Complete transformation of a Crate G600XL amplifier that arrived at the workbench in critical condition: non-original parts, signs of self-oscillation, improvised assembly with non-standard materials (even smelling of diesel!) and a completely uncharacteristic power stage. Although considered condemned for professional use, the equipment had inestimable sentimental value: it belonged to the current owner's father. Therefore, the project had a greater objective — to rescue the sound soul of the equipment, respecting its history and making it safe, reliable and functional for the studio. 🔧 What was done: Complete replacement of the power supply and power stage Installation of a high-efficiency class D module (up to 500W @ 4Ω) https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/irs2092... Maintenance of the original preamplifier, with a complete overhaul Restoration of the chassis, panel and connectors Optimization of the reverb system Proper shielding and grounding to eliminate noise Stress tests and technical analysis in real time 💡 The result?
