Litfiba, “17 Re” – La formazione storica tra inedito e tour

The unreleased song, the album's history, and the celebratory tour: Litfiba told us about "17 Re" forty years later. By Leonardo Follieri Forty years after the release of "17 Re," one of the most iconic albums in Italian rock, Litfiba is back with a project tied to that album. "17 Re," the title track, originally left off the tracklist and previously unreleased, will finally be released on April 17th. The song, recovered and reworked, is available digitally, while the numbered maxi-vinyl single, distributed by Sony Music, has already sold out. We met the band in their 1980s lineup—Piero Pelù, Ghigo Renzulli, Antonio Aiazzi, and Gianni Maroccolo—at Sony's Milan headquarters. After the press conference, they granted us a brief interview, starting with the new song "17 Re" and its connection to current events. The band's origins and the historic cellar on Via de' Bardi in Florence, where the project was born, are discussed, as well as how this group rediscovered the dynamics and working methods of the time in crafting the song. The interview also explores aspects of the album's history and context, the second installment in the "Trilogy of Victims of Power" (along with "Desaparecido" and "Litfiba 3"), as well as some interesting facts about the instruments (such as the accordion, which this time will be real and not reproduced with a keyboard) and the arrangements. A special episode related to the premiere of "17 Re" (17 Kings), which took place for the first time in Melbourne, Australia, is also explored, and the present is highlighted with the "Forty Years of 17 Re" tour, kicking off June 27th. The tour marks the historic group's return to the stage after twelve years, with 20 dates across Italy and over 70,000 tickets already sold, preceded by their appearance at the May Day concert in Rome. The live performance will feature the entire album "17 Re" along with other songs from the '80s repertoire, with a focus on the atmosphere and soundscapes of the era.
