Meet collector Kefiloe Siwisa, featured in The Faces of RMB Latitudes 2026

We're excited to feature a young collector as we continue our series of short films that offer an intimate window into contemporary African art today. RMB Latitudes Art Fair is a few short weeks away, and these short films capture the process, personality and inspiration, and bring us closer to understanding which artists shape this year's Fair. Kefiloe Siwisa is a Johannesburg-based cultural worker whose practice prioritises empathy, collective presencing, and (rest)oration. No stranger to the art industry with her previous positions at Stevenson Gallery in Johannesburg, Lead Curator of the Turbine Art Fair, and Assistant Curator of the public programme Forum at 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair (London, Marrakesh and New York). She is also co-founder of Queertopia.za, a queer-centred multidisciplinary festival. When asked about collecting, she says: “Collecting has always been a practice shared among loved ones. Because these objects can only emerge by artists’ hand through many processes and encounters, it feels only right that collecting should move with that same closeness. This is also how I approach my work as a cultural worker, with a desire to water intimacy between us and make places where we can feel through one another’s skin and also feel into this strange place we find ourselves in.” RMB Latitudes Art Fair is set to take place in the enchanting Shepstone Gardens from 22 May - 24 May 2026.
