How To Use Interdental Brushes

Dr Chhaya Chauhan (GDC: 83940) explains how you should use interdental brushes to clean in between the teeth. === Step 1 - Ensure you have the right size for the space, you should feel some friction when inserting the brush between the teeth and the gums should slightly blanche white. Step 2 - The area that is most important to clean is the triangle part of the gum- in-between the teeth. Step 3 - Gently insert the brush horizontally into the space, pushing down slightly on the gum Step 4 - Push the brush all the way through, now slightly angling it upwards so not to catch the gum on the inside of your mouth. Step 5 - Repeat with all other gaps, remembering to pull against the side of the other tooth. Helpful info: Floss twice a day. Don't force brushes into a gap. Use the correct sized brush. Use the cap to extend the handle length and help with reach. Bend the brush to help access rear teeth. Do not worry if your gums bleed. Bleeding should resolve with regular interdental cleaning. It’s important to manually disturb the plaque. It's not required but you can apply toothpaste to the brush. If your gums are particularly sore, run the brush under warm water to soften the bristles. Brushes can be reused. === 0:00 - What are they? 0:15 - How to use 1:00 - Helpful information === #howto #interdentalbrush #flossing #dentist #dentalcare #dentalhealth #dentalhygiene #electricteeth 👩‍⚖️ Disclaimer: 🤝 The contents of this video is information, NOT dental/medical advice. 💰 *Some links are affiliate links which we earn a commission from.
