The word "湯岐" is written "yujimata. The history of Yujimata Onsen is long, and the ancestors of Izumiya Ryokan opened the hot spring in 1534. The inn has been in operation for many generations and is now in its 20th generation of owners. The inn boasts fresh, naturally gushing, free-flowing hot spring water.
