What the knights didn’t take for the war effort, thieves stole the rest. Their neighbors and friends all deal with similar issues, and turn them away for help. The listener spends nights sleeping in streets, scavenging what they could. One night, they overhear a group of mages supervising an arrest of cultists. The mages try to convince them that the rumors are false, but they do not listen. As they are taken away, one screams, “YOU WILL NOT STOP THE RETURN OF THE WICKED QUEEN!” The listener is curious. Who is The Wicked Queen? They learn that she is an ancient goddess, when summoned, will grant one wish, then ask for a sacrifice of her choosing.
