My wife asked me to help bring these 69 minis to life to make her favorite board game more immersive, and we’re starting with the pack of eight wolves. I wanted to challenge myself to see what I could accomplish over a single weekend, focusing on fast but effective techniques like heavy dry brushing and gradient blending with makeup brushes. I’ll show you how I built up custom alpine rock bases, achieved realistic fur gradients for both brown and black wolves, and added those final "big bad wolf" details like golden eyes and jagged teeth. In this video, you’ll see: Base Building: Using AK flat rocks and Vallejo earth texture for custom terrain. Speed Painting Fur: Using dry brush layers and makeup brushes to create smooth transitions. Detailing: Painting golden eyes with Gundam markers and cleaning up facial details. The Final Touch: Creating a "clumpy toothpaste" snow paste for a wintery finish. Whether you're looking to speed paint your own board game minis or just want to follow along on my journey to becoming a better mini painter, I hope this provides some helpful tips for your next project!
