The Kharkiv Regional Council appealed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a request to rename the village of Vatutino in the Kharkiv district to Zaluzhnoye. The deputies of the regional council, in turn, supported the petition of local activists to rename the settlement. In Vatutino itself, there are still disputes about the need to decommunize the geographical name. The final decision on whether the village will receive a new passport must be made by the parliament.
