Top 20 Supergirl Villains
Kara Zor-El, aka Maid of Might, Linda Danvers, Girl of Steel's worst enemies. #20 The main antagonist of Woman of Tomorrow and the DCU Supergirl movie, a notorious space pirate who killed Ruthie's father and wounded Krypto. #19 "Nasty" Luthor, Lex's wealthy and manipulative niece, who joined his fight against the Kryptonians by uncovering Supergirl's secret identity. #18 Superman's power-hungry enemy, who is also interested in Supergirl's powers and has often clashed with her. #17 This reality-manipulating imp has continued to torment Kara, but mainly during the Silver Age, when he brought Kara’s parents back to life in exchange for Supergirl marrying him. #16 Kara's telepathic enemy from the Bronze Age, who later joined the Suicide Squad. #15 A Kryptonian usurper who was imprisoned in the Phantom Zone—an enemy Kara has had to fight later on—but originally, during the Silver Age, he was not so much Superman’s enemy as Supergirl’s and Superboy’s. #14 A female scientist who survived Auschwitz and gained powerful cosmic abilities; Kara had to join forces with her cousin to defeat her. She later joined the Suicide Squad as well. #13 The tyrant of Apokolips and the new god, an evil force behind the scenes who wants Supergirl to join his ranks against Superman and the Earthlings. #12 An immensely powerful cosmic being that destroys universes; Kara died sacrificing herself in battle on behalf of Earthlings against this being and remained dead for 18 years, during which time Linda Danvers and the Matrix entity took her place on New Earth. #11 A criminal from Kandor during the Silver Age who fought against Kara and is thus one of her earliest adversaries. He has made a comeback in the new Supergirl comic book series. #10 A twisted copy of Supergirl, of which there are several different versions that Supergirl has had to fight. #9 New 52 villain; a Kryptonian clone whose mission is to preserve Kryptonian heritage and restore Krypton to its former glory by any means necessary, such as seducing Kara and turning her against the others. #8 New 52 villain; A powerful, bloodthirsty Kryptonian female monster, the Worldkiller, whom Zor-El created as a scientific project but later abandoned. She tried to recruit Kara to her side in the battle for Earth and New York. After her defeat, she disappeared and has since made a comeback, primarily in the CW’s Supergirl series. #7 An evil Supergirl clone, of which there are many different versions; the original was created under the influence of red kryptonite, and a later version, also known as Nightflame, battles Supergirl and LOSH. #6 A Celtic family curse that transforms its bearer, Siobhan, into a malevolent creature with a deadly scream, who has plagued Superman and Supergirl for a long time until she joined forces with Kara against her father, the Black Banshee. #5 Most notably, the version of Zor-El—Kara’s dying father, whom Brainiac transformed into a Kryptonian mechanical monster, Kara’s tireless enemy, who created his own Kryptonian dystopia, I’noxia. #4 Supergirl's first true enemy and nemesis from the Silver Age, a scientist from Kandor who kidnapped Supergirl and impersonated her, teaming up with other adversaries. She later made a comeback in the new Supergirl comic book series. #3 Superman's archenemy, a staunch opponent of the Kryptonians, whose hatred and resentment toward Superman have also been directed at Kara on numerous occasions. #2 A villain who wields immense nuclear power; Kara's adversary since the Bronze Age, he became her archenemy in the 2000s, killing her father, Zor-El, and ultimately destroying all of Kandor and New Krypton. #HM1 A Satanist and Linda Danvers's demonic boyfriend. He isn't Kara's enemy, but he does appear as Supergirl's archenemy—a hybrid version of Danvers and Matrix. #HM2 A wealthy villain interested in Kryptonian technology who kidnapped Supergirl after she landed on Earth. #HM3 A Kryptonian scientist and the Phantom Zone's most notorious villain from the Silver Age, who frequently battled Superman and Supergirl during that era. #HM4 The nemesis of the Legion of Superheroes, who has also been portrayed at times as Supergirl's adversary. #HM5 "Hero," who was Darkseid's henchman and a weapon against Earthlings from Apokolips, and who tried to date Supergirl—which ended very badly. #1 A techno-organic being and the Collector of Worlds. Supergirl doesn't have actually a true archenemy. He was chosen as number one because he is a constant, underlying villain who has contributed to the destruction of Krypton, the capture of Kandor, the transformation of Kara’s father into a monster, and more—and he has had a negative influence on Kara from the Silver Age to the present day.
