Quando o Sofrimento Chega e Deus Parece em Silêncio… O Que Fazer?

When Suffering Comes and God Seems Silent… What to Do? THE PROBLEM OF EVIL. We all experience moments of crisis, when answers seem distant and the pain becomes difficult to bear. How can we deal with life's uncertainties? What to do when suffering hits us and we don't know how to react? In this video, we will reflect in light of God's Word on how to face tribulations with faith and hope. Just like the prophet Habakkuk, who asked: "How long, O Lord, must I cry for help, and you will not hear? Why do you make me see injustice?" (Habakkuk 1:2-3), we too can feel lost. But there is an answer in God's faithfulness. Let us seek understanding and comfort in the Scriptures together. Theodicy is the branch of theology and philosophy that seeks to answer the classic question: If God is good and all-powerful, why does evil exist? The term was coined by philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz in the 18th century and literally means "justification of God" (theos = God; dike = justice). Main Approaches to Theodicy: Augustinian Theodicy (Free Will) – Saint Augustine argues that God created a good world, but evil arose due to human misuse of free will. Original sin brought corruption to creation. Irenaean Theodicy (Spiritual Growth) – Irenaeus of Lyons argues that evil is a means by which God allows human beings to grow morally and spiritually. Suffering matures us and leads us to greater likeness to Christ. Theodicy of God's Permission – God is not the author of evil, but allows it to fulfill His greater purposes. Job is a classic example: he suffered, but in the end, he understood God's sovereignty. Reformed Response (God's Decrees) – The Reformed tradition emphasizes that everything occurs under God's sovereign will, even though His plan is often incomprehensible to us. As Romans 8:28 says, "All things work together for good to those who love God." Reflection: The question of evil and suffering doesn't have a simple answer, but the Christian faith teaches that God is just and sovereign. In the end, He will restore all things and wipe away every tear (Revelation 21:4).
