Ecuador Turismo Azogues COJITAMBO: “LA IGLESIA DE SAN ALFONSO“LA CUEVA DE LOS MURCIÉLAGOS“EL CHORRO”
Construction of the Church of San Alfonso, in the Cojitambo Parish, began in 1957. It has a 47-meter-high central tower, a central nave and side aisles, columns, ornamentation, and arches made of Andesite stone, extracted from the 3,076-meter-high hill that gives the parish its name. Cojitambo, etymologically CURI TAMBO, means "Rest of Gold." It is located 9 km from the city of Azogues.
