#Decántalo | Entrevista Pago de Carraovejas

It all started with a very specific idea: to create the perfect wine to accompany the suckling pig at the family restaurant in Segovia. Almost four decades later, Pago de Carraovejas has become one of the most renowned projects in contemporary Spanish wine. And behind it lies a story that goes far beyond the winery. Pedro Ruiz Aragoneses studied psychology, worked as a family therapist, and came to wine at the age of 24 without knowing how to read a balance sheet. "The important thing is to listen a lot," he says. And that ability to listen changed everything. In 2015, they made one of the project's bravest decisions: to abandon the classic logic of aged wines and reserves in favor of the concept of single-estate and single-vineyard wines. Landscape over technique. Origin over time in the barrel. "We think more about the customer of ten years from now than the one of ten years ago." A phrase that says it all about their way of understanding wine… and the business. — Remember to subscribe to our channel and like the video! 👍🏽 Discover the world's best wines at #Decántalo, your wine shop.
