Pages of a calendar for 1937 turning throughout. The tractors were made in Dagenham, London. Rural countryside shots, and small, English villages. Trees being felled and cleared; tree stumps being hauled away by the tractor. The tractor being used to spread manure from a manure heap. Men operate the tractor, dressed in traditional early 20th century, approximately late 1930s, clothing and caps. The ground id ploughed, with the wheels digging into the ground and mud flying everywhere. Close up of the tractor pulling a disc harrow, with the discs turned at an angle into the ground. The tractor pulls a rotary cultivator tiller, which stirs up the earth and aerates the soil. The tractor can be used for artificial manure distribution, using a manure or dung spreader. The tractor being used for seed drilling. Pretty English countryside, lots of flowers on a sunny day. Men (so-called “fruit growers”) using tractors and men working in fields of fruit trees in flower. A man lights oil heaters (known variously as “smudge pots”, “choofas” or “orchard heaters”) in the trenches of an orchard to keep the trees warm during the evening frosts, with rows of oil heaters alight between the trees. Shot of the oil heaters burning in neat rows in the dark once night falls. A man is high up above the trees on a wooden platform on an early 20th century forklift.
