A Qualified Success: Game 3. 2nd attempt at 1st Train to Cassibile British v Italians, Sicily 1943

A Qualified Success: 3. 2nd Attempt at 1st Train to Cassibile British v Italians, Sicily 1943 #chainofcommand #WW2 An extra battle this week as both David and Olaf with his Italian Coastal Regiment Platoon, try to hold off and delay the advancing British Army. Leigh and I will share the British Kings Own Platoon, as we play our second campaign battle in the ‘A Qualified Success’ Pint Sized Campaign, using the the Chain of Command 2 rules by the Too Fat Lardies. This Scenario: 1st Train to Cassibile starts the Sicily Campaign for the British, this following the previous battle where the Italian forces had manage to thwart the British light Infantry with barbed wire defences and mine fields! The British had to pull back as they started to take losses so that they could bring support up to the front in order to clear the defensive positions of the Italians. In the battle the British forces have arrived in Sicily- The Soft Underbelly of ‘Fortress Europa’. After only a limited defence of the coastline the Kings Own Light Infantry pushed north to capture the railway station allowing movement along the coast towards Siracusa. This scenario is the Probe from the main rulebook of Chain of Command by Too Fat Lardies. This small railway station is our battlefield for this battle. Our mission is to push through the Italian lines secure a jump off point and get a unit off of the board… all before the Italians can trigger the counter down and hold on for time to run out and trigger the game end. The scenario is from the Too Fat Lardies rulebook Chain of Command 2.
