Yogyakarta – 4 Days of Temples, Caves & Chaos

Join us on an unforgettable 4-day adventure through Yogyakarta, the cultural heart of Java! From ancient temples to underground caves, chaotic streets to serene sunsets—this trip had it all. Day 1 got off to a rocky start with a delayed flight and a 45-minute luggage wait, but we turned it around with a visit to the peaceful Taman Sari Water Castle, a delicious lunch at Sekar Kedhaton, and an evening exploring the vibrant chaos of Malioboro Street. Day 2 tested our resolve with a 3:15 AM wake-up call for the legendary Setumbu Hill sunrise—unfortunately, the mist had other plans! But we soldiered on to Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist temple, followed by the majestic Prambanan Hindu temple complex, both brought to life by incredible guides. Day 3 was the highlight—descending 60 metres into Jomblang Cave (all human-powered!), trekking through mud, and capturing that iconic sun ray photo. We then feasted on fresh lobster at Timang Beach and braved the human-powered gondola at Watu Panjang. Day 4 slowed things down with cave tubing at Goa Pindul and inflatable rafting inside Goa Tanding, before ending the trip with a breathtaking rooftop sunset at Ibis Style Yogyakarta. Four days of chaos, wonder, mud, and magic. Yogyakarta, you were extraordinary. 📍 Places Visited: Taman Sari Water Castle Malioboro Street Setumbu Hill Borobudur Temple Prambanan Temple Jomblang Cave Timang Beach Watu Panjang Gondola Goa Pindul Cave Goa Tanding Cave 📅 Trip Dates: 8th – 11th July 2026
