Finite Element Methods: Lecture 20 - Buckling
#finiteelementmethods #buckling #vinaygoyal In this lecture the buckling behavior of structural systems is discussed. Two approaches are discussed, the linear buckling solution and the nonlinear buckling solution. NASA SP-8007A is used along with the linear buckling solution to account for the differences between test and analysis. Nonlinear buckling analysis is performed with measured imperfections with the goal of reducing the conservatism from using the NASA SP-8007A knockdown factor design curves.
