Look around Black Spring & Coyote Spring—there’s even a community pit nearby. (Check road conditions; high-clearance helps after storms.) Quick directions (general area): From Deseret/Delta, many rockhounds head south on UT-257 toward Black Rock, then east on signed dirt roads toward Black Spring/Coyote Spring. Wander the surrounding hills and cuts—obsidian is widespread here. Always navigate with a current map/GPS. What you can find: Mostly black obsidian from pebble to fist-size, plus reddish-brown/mahogany and snowflake pieces. Sunlight makes glassy surfaces pop—scan slopes and fresh wash edges.
