Route 47: National Express West Midlands: 4693 (BU05HFO) Volvo B7TL/ Wright Gemini Eclipse

Let's battle on back to Birmingham now, winding 'round the West Midlands we go, let's start off with a double-B7-bill, with Voithy Volvo 4693. New in 2005. 4693 formed a batch of 10 Wright bodied Volvo B7TLs new to Travel West Midlands and based at Coventry until 2017, where it joined the West Midlands fleet, and following a stint at Birmingham Central now resides at West Bromwich, where a lot of B7TLs can be found. The BU05-batch were also the only Voith-boxed Wright-bodied B7TLs, earlier native BJ03s & BX54s were ZF-gearboxed. Our journey sees us on Route 47 which runs from West Bromwich Bus Station to Wednesbury Bus Station via Carters Green, Hateley Heath & Hall Green. 4693 is powered by a Euro 3 Volvo D7C engine coupled to a Voith DIWA D854.4 4-speed automatic gearbox.
