Arthur Kleinman is a renowned medical anthropologist and holds positions as the Esther and Sidney Rabb professor of anthropology at Harvard University and as a professor of medical anthropology and psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. An author and co-author of several books, Kleinman’s most notable work, “The Illness Narratives: Suffering, Healing, and the Human Condition,” is widely taught in medical schools as one of his many contributions to educating future generations of well-rounded psychiatrists, anthropologists, and healthcare workers.
