Chickens & Ducks are all living together for the first time 🐔🦆+ baking bread & cookies

Today is the day that we get to put all the chickens together in their new pen. I also bake more bread - what's new? And bake up some cookies I've been wanting to make for quite a while. Reese's Pieces cookies (recipe can be found in cookbook vol. 1 pg. 65) 1/2 c. vegetable shortening 1/2 c. soft butter 3/4 c. white sugar 2/3 c. packed brown sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 2/3 c. unsweetened cocoa powder 2 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips (I didn't have any) 1 1/4 c. Reese's Pieces Cream fats and sugar. Blend in vanilla and eggs well. Stir in all dry ingredients. Mix in by hand chips and pieces. Save a few pieces to place on the tops of the cookies if you like that look or just stir them all in. It really doesn't matter. Chill dough for about an hour. Place tablespoon amounts of dough on baking sheet. Press a couple pieces on top if you'd like. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Cool on pan for 2 minutes. Do not overbake as these are amazing when super chewy!! My cookbooks are available for purchase.
