Ausflug nach Luxor mit dem Bus | Ägypten 2022 (Vlog #105)

This video is about my experiences on the trip to Luxor, Egypt. I'll explain what to expect, how the trip works, and give you some tips. I was picked up shortly after 5 a.m. in a large tour bus, and after a few stops at other hotels, we headed towards Luxor. Our first stop was at a kiosk after about 2.5 hours. Along the way, we were able to watch a bit of the sunrise in the desert. After leaving the kiosk in the desert, we continued to Qena and from there another 1.5 hours to Luxor. The last part of the journey was very beautiful, as we drove along a canal for almost the entire time and could see the Nile in the background. Once in Luxor, we first went to the Karnak Temple, where we spent about 90 minutes. Afterward, we went across the Nile for lunch at a very nice restaurant, and the food was really good. ... After lunch, we drove towards Hatshepsut's Temple, but first we stopped at an alabaster shop (it had a real touristy, touristy atmosphere). We finished there after about 30 minutes, and then we finally entered Hatshepsut's mortuary temple. The three terraces were truly impressive, and we had a fantastic view over Luxor. After the temple complex, we went to the Valley of the Kings, where we visited various tombs. We saw the tombs of Ramses I, III, and Ninth. For an extra fee, you can visit more tombs, but it becomes very time-consuming, so a private tour is a better option. Something else not to be underestimated is the heat, and the constant climbing up and down in the tombs is quite tiring, especially now during the hot season from early/mid-June to the end of August. After the Valley of the Kings, we went to Banana Island on the Nile, or rather, along the Nile. The Nile cruise was really lovely, but the farm visit could have been skipped, and the zoo was especially unnecessary! All in all, the trip was truly wonderful, and I would recommend it to all vacationers. Luxor definitely won't be the last time I visit, that much is certain.
