FIRST WOMEN BUS DRIVER The record for being the first women bus driver was achieved by Vasantha Kumari (born on April 18, 1959) of Colachel, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, wherein she was appointed as the Public Transport Passenger Bus Driver on March 30, 1993 by the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation and after 24 years of good service without accident, retired on April 30, 2017, confirmed as on December 30, 2018.
