Sexta cápsula audiovisual del proyecto EWAP dedicada al oficio tradicional del tejamanil, una de las técnicas artesanales más características vinculadas a los trojes purépechas de Michoacán. Esta cápsula acompaña al artesano Esteban Velázquez durante una jornada de trabajo para documentar el proceso tradicional de elaboración del tejamanil, las tejas de madera que, desde hace generaciones, protegen las cubiertas de los trojes purépechas. A través de su trabajo, se pone en valor un oficio y un conjunto de conocimientos tradicionales que hoy se encuentran en riesgo de desaparecer. La cápsula presenta parte del trabajo de documentación realizado por el proyecto EWAP para registrar los oficios, técnicas y saberes tradicionales que han dado forma a la arquitectura de madera de la sierra purépecha. — Sixth audiovisual capsule from the EWAP project dedicated to the traditional craft of tejamanil, one of the most distinctive woodworking traditions associated with the Purépecha trojes of Michoacán. This capsule follows artisan Esteban Velázquez during a working day, documenting the traditional process of making wooden shingles (tejamanil), the handcrafted wooden roofing elements that have protected the roofs of Purépecha trojes for generations. Through his work, the video highlights a traditional craft and body of knowledge that are now at risk of disappearing.
