The Temple of Hell, or the Gardens of Hell, is unlike anything you've ever seen in Thailand. In the latest episode of the Bangsean miniseries: I start my day in my favorite secret spot: a coffee shop set up on a tuk-tuk, right on the waterfront, where the only sound is the waves. The smell of coffee... Nobody tells you about this place. And that's precisely what makes it special. Then we go to the strangest and most striking place I've ever been to in Thailand: the Bangsean Gardens of Hell (Wat Saen Suk). Sculptures representing Buddhist heaven and hell, figures telling the story of Buddha, and scenes that leave you wondering... What do you think happens after death? What do all those figures mean? This place attracts thousands of Thais every year... but hardly any Western tourists know about it. From there, we go to eat fresh seafood at a beachfront restaurant with one of the best views on the Chonburi coast. Local Thai food, a sea breeze, and an atmosphere you won't find in travel guides. And for dessert: original ice creams decorated with starfish and sea creature cookies. 🦀🍦 We ended the day (and the miniseries) crossing the Chonburi Sea Bridge at sunset, one of the most impressive structures in the area, on our way back to Bangkok.
