September 27-28, 2025. I attempted to climb Mount Kaikoma, one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains, in the Southern Alps. The route I climbed was the Kurobe Ridge, one of Japan's three steepest climbs. Kyuya Fukada, author of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains, called it "the most difficult route in the Alps." Will a 51-year-old overweight man be able to reach the summit? Watch the video for details.
