Conferencia. El cuerpo del color por Roxana Amarilla

Certain works in the exhibition OLGA DE AMARAL TEXTILE BODY are simultaneously a spatial exploration and a color strategy alluding to ikat. Ikat is a resist-dyeing or negative-dyeing method applied only to the threads before they are woven into a fabric or to loose threads. The question of this dyeing technique opens a path for considering the artist's possible references to the artisanal textile traditions of Latin America and the world.
