On this week's yacht tour we step inside one of the truly innovate and surprising yachts available today, the Galeon 510 Sky. Galeon have built a reputation for breaking the rules, reinventing the use of space in yacht design and what is possible. Alexander Marine have this 2019 Galeon 510 Sky 'Papillon'" available for sale, and it was a pleasure to do the yacht tour. Starting at the stern, the hydraulic hi/lo teak swim platform is perfect for launching the AB Navigo VS9 2.9M Centre Console RIB or enjoying a refreshing dip in the water, or firing up the Sovereign BBQ for waterside entertaining. One of the most striking features of this yacht is its unique Beach Mode fold-out balconies, which extend the cockpit width to an impressive six meters. This clever design significantly expands the usable space to accommodate removable bar stools that slot securely into dedicated deck fittings on the port side of the vessel, creating a casual bar-style seating area that makes use of the galley benchtop, perfect for entertaining or relaxed alfresco dining. The cockpit itself boasts an L-shaped settee with a height-adjustable table that can convert into a daybed, providing a comfortable and versatile seating area. Beneath the teak cockpit, a spacious utility room offers additional storage, a fridge, seperate freezer, a toilet and shower, and convenient access to the engine room. LED lighting throughout the cockpit, skydeck flybridge and steps ensures a stylish and well-lit environment after dark. Entering the saloon through the large sliding door, you are greeted by a bright and airy space with panoramic views, courtesy of abundant glazing, sliding windows and a single-pane windshield. A versatile reversible lounge is positioned opposite the galley to starboard, allowing you to relax facing either inboard or outboard. The galley, positioned to port as you enter the saloon, is a chef's delight featuring Corian countertops, satin walnut cabinetry, and a full suite of appliances including a refrigerator, two-element electric cooktop, oven/microwave and half-sized dishwasher. Designed for effortless entertaining, the galley seamlessly transitions into the saloon, where the reupholstered U-shaped leather lounge surrounds a height-adjustable dining table that can convert into an additional berth for extra guests. Overhead, a retractable sunroof bathes the space in natural light and fresh air. For entertainment, a Samsung Hi/Lo 40" HD TV with Blu-ray and a Bose soundbar provide premium audio-visual experiences. The lower helm station to starboard is equipped with Raymarine Axiom 12" and 9" MFDs and a full Raymarine suite including GPS plotter, sounder, digital radar, autopilot and AIS, ensuring seamless and precise navigation. An electric up and down glass window on the starboard side provides excellent ventilation and clear communication when docking. Side-Power bow and stern thrusters, along with a Dockmate Twist docking remote, ensure smooth and confident maneuvering in any situation. Below deck, 'Papillon' offers a luxurious three guest cabin layout. The full-beam midship master stateroom boasts a queen-size island bed, a Samsung 32" HD TV, and a private ensuite, enveloping its occupants in absolute comfort. The forward VIP guest cabin also features a queen-size bed with private access to the guest head and shower. The starboard guest cabin provides twin single bunk beds, making this yacht perfect for family cruising. High-end finishes, soft fabrics, and stunning mosaic-tiled bathrooms elevate the level of refinement throughout. Ascending to the skydeck flybridge via cockpit stairs, you'll find an inviting space designed for both relaxation and navigation. The upper helm is centrally positioned with a single helm seat, offering excellent visibility and control. It's complemented by two additional seats that can be positioned forward or aft. The flybridge bimini top provides shade, while a starboard-side L-shaped settee surrounds a height-adjustable table, creating the perfect setting for alfresco dining with panoramic views. The brilliance of the 510 SKY setup is that with just the press of a button, the skydeck flybridge cover opens up to reveal a spacious open-air flybridge area and helm station. Better still, this setup is achieved without removing and stowing away multiple covers! Papillon' has just benefited from a complete fresh antifoul and Propspeed application in September 2025.
