Carful, The Bear Is Right There! Ocean Shores Sand & Sawdust Festival

June on the Washington coast always feels like the start of real summer, so we headed into Ocean Shores to check out the annual Sand & Sawdust Festival. We didn’t catch any live sculpting this time, but we grabbed a few photos of the finished sand sculptures displayed around town — one of the classic coastal events that brings visitors to Ocean Shores every year. When we got back to our property, the Washington coast delivered one of those unforgettable moments: a mama bear and two cubs moving quietly through the trees. A reminder that coastal travel here isn’t just beaches and events — it’s true PNW wildlife, right outside your door.
