Lots of "Big" G-Gauge Trains at ECLSTS, Spring 2018

"37 trains in 10 minutes" On March 30, 2018, I headed to York, Pennsylvania to visit the first day of the annual East Coast Large Scale Train Show (ECLSTS) held each spring. This was my first time visiting the ECLSTS since 2015 and my seventh time visiting it in its current location. I got plenty of footage of trains from each of the running layouts. Aikenback Live Steamers 0:06 Train 1: Eric's kit-bashed "Forney" pulls 3 full-size passenger cars and gets some wheel slip on startup. Scale is 1:13.7. Train 2: Accucraft Rio Grande K-36 483 pulls a 4-car passenger train. Scale is 1:20.3. Train 3: Vertical boiler engine with chain drive pulling flatcar. Scale is 16mm or about 1:19. Train 4: Norfolk and Western streamlined J #611 pulls 11-car mixed freight. Scale is 1:32. Train 5: Pennsylvania Railroad K4s pulls 5-car passenger train. Scale is 1:29. Train 6: Accucraft Quarry Hunslet (loud chuffing) leads 3 two-axle wagons. Scale is 1:13.7. Train 7: 0-4-0T pulls 5 two-axle coaches. Scale unknown. Train 8: DB 4-6-0 leads 6-car passenger train. Scale is 1:32. Train 9: Burlington 0-6-0 engine by Accucraft races behind Train 8 with a 4-car freight. Engine's scale is 1:32. Train 10: Accucraft Rio Grande C-25 375 leads a 4-car passenger train. Scale is 1:20.3. Warrior Run Locomotive Works 2:05 1:20.3 scale Train 11: Dulles and Reston C-21 #86 leads a 9-car mixed freight train. Train 12: Rio Grande Southern Motor #2 (Galloping Goose) Train 13: Dulles and Reston C-19 29 leads a 4-car passenger train. It consists of an RPO, a combine, and two coaches. Interior detailing is shown up close. Train 14: Rio Grande Southern Motor #4 (Galloping Goose) Train 15: Old Number 12, a 2-6-0 on the Dulles and Reston, accelerates from a stop with a 7-car mixed freight. Train 16: Rio Grande K-27 464 leads mixed freight train with some interesting loads. Train 17: A "Heisler" geared locomotive leads a logging train. Train 18: 2-truck "Shay" leads 4-car equipment train with some vehicular loads. Train 19: Warrior Run Lumber box cab critter 12 does a caboose hop. Washington Virginia Maryland Garden Railway Society 5:04 Train 20: Alaska Railroad 10-car mixed freight has a steel plow up front and is powered by a GP9. Scale is 1:29. Train 21: Big Hauler runs tender first with flatcar and caboose. Scale is 1:22.5. Train 22: 0-4-0T pulls bubble car. No scale specified. Pocono Mountain Garden Railway Society 5:23 Train 23: Baltimore and Ohio F7's running A-B-A form pull an 8-car streamliner set. Scale is approximately 1:26. Train 24: Three Conrail GP38 engines and a GP9 pull a hefty mixed freight train. Scale is 1:29. Potomac Valley Central Train Runners 5:59 Train 25: Two Western Maryland "Shay" geared locomotives, a 2-truck and a 3-truck, lead an 8-car logging train. Locomotives are 1:20.3 scale. Train 26: Baltimore and Ohio GP40 leads 8-car coal train. Scale is 1:29. Train 27: Western Maryland 4-6-6-4 pulls a 15-car mixed freight train with cool loads aboard. Scale is 1:32 and 1:29. New Hampshire Garden Railway Society 7:03 Train 28: Southern Railway 2-8-2 built by Aristo-Craft leads an 8-car mixed freight. Scale is 1:29. We then see a close-up of a yard tower with a look both outside and in. Train 29: Suleski Transportation SD40-2 leads a 15-car mixed freight with a Norfolk Southern GP38-2 helping in the middle. Scale is 1:29. Train 30: Freedom Central 4-6-2 Pacific leads intermodal train of Gunderson and RoadRailer cars. Scale is 1:29. Train 31: Rio Grande Southern C-19's 42 and 40 pull a long mixed freight train. The first engine leads and the second helps in the middle. Scale is 1:20.3. Susquehanna Valley Garden Railway Society 8:30 Train 32: Two 2-truck "Shay" engines built by Bachmann lead a logging train. Scale is 1:20.3. Train 33: Reading Co. ALCo S4 leads a 6-car mixed freight. Scale is 1:29. Train 34: Lehigh Valley ALCo S4 leads a reefer and caboose to a stop. Scale is 1:29. Southeast Pennsylvania Garden Railway Society 9:05 Train 35: UP "Western Pacific" heritage unit built by USA Trains leads 6-car mixed freight. Scale is 1:29. Train 36: Rio Grande F3's in A-B form lead a 14-car passenger train. Scale is 1:29 and 1:22.5. Train 37: Colorado and Southern 2-6-0 built by LGB leads a 7-car mixed train. Scale is 1:22.5.
