Biagru Farm: quando un’idea diventa impresa | Stalla Open Lab - Episodio 1

The adventure of "Biagru Farm" has begun, a company founded by Lodi farmers Giuseppe Elias and Gian Enrico Grugni, who decided to join forces and build a new barn capable of housing 1,200 lactating cows. This requirement arose from the need to ensure generational turnover and strengthen productivity, competitiveness, animal welfare, and management professionalism, while also addressing the challenges of finding qualified labor. The operational headquarters of "Biagru Farm – Cascina Casoni" is in Cavenago d'Adda, in the Lodi area. This hi-tech barn, once fully operational, will feature 26 milking robots positioned to implement a batch milking model. Animal welfare is guaranteed thanks to an innovative layout that facilitates labor flow management, and it features outdoor paddocks for free-roaming cows, as well as state-of-the-art ventilation and irrigation systems for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Environmental sustainability is also ensured by the photovoltaic system that will be built and, in the future, most likely by a biogas or biomethane plant.
