The new Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4MATIC+ comes with the updated AMG M177 EVO engine, a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo petrol engine with an integrated starter generator and 48V mild-hybrid technology. The engine produces 450 kW / 612 hp and 850 Nm of torque, plus an additional 17 kW / 23 hp and 205 Nm from the ISG system. Power is sent through the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G automatic transmission and AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive. Technical data: Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4MATIC+ Engine: 4.0-litre V8 biturbo M177 EVO Displacement: 3,982 cc Power: 450 kW / 612 hp ISG boost: 17 kW / 23 hp Torque: 850 Nm ISG torque: 205 Nm Power range: 5,500–6,100 rpm Torque range: 2,500–4,500 rpm Transmission: AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G Drivetrain: AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive 0–100 km/h: 4.2 seconds Top speed: 280 km/h Fuel consumption: 13.7–13.4 l/100 km CO₂ emissions: 312–305 g/km CO₂ class: G The new AMG GLS 63 also comes with AMG RIDE CONTROL+ air suspension, adaptive damping, AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL active roll stabilisation, AMG rear axle locking differential and AMG DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes including Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Trail, Slippery and Individual. The updated M177 EVO V8 engine features a new flat-plane crankshaft, modified intake camshaft, optimised fuel injection system, newly designed intake and exhaust ports, improved turbocharger hardware and modern exhaust aftertreatment with particulate filter. These updates are designed to improve throttle response, efficiency, power delivery and long-term compliance while keeping the emotional AMG V8 character. The AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system offers fully variable torque distribution for maximum traction, stability and performance. The electronically controlled AMG rear axle locking differential helps improve cornering, acceleration, grip and driving dynamics, while the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission delivers fast and smooth gear changes. The AMG RIDE CONTROL+ suspension with air suspension and adaptive damping automatically adjusts to the road and driving situation. In Sport and Sport+ mode, the vehicle lowers by 10 mm for better stability and aerodynamics. In Trail mode, the ride height can increase by 55 mm for off-road use. The system can also raise the car by up to 20 mm for poor roads, ramps or difficult surfaces. The AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL system uses active electromechanical stabilisers on the front and rear axles to reduce body roll and improve cornering stability. Sensors analyse driving manoeuvres and the road surface up to 1,000 times per second, helping the GLS 63 stay stable, comfortable and precise despite its size. The exterior of the new Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 has been redesigned with a new AMG front grille, larger air intakes, new LED light signature, AMG-specific headlights, new rear lights with star design, AMG Performance exhaust system with quad tailpipes, sporty rear diffuser and AMG wheels up to 23 inches. Inside, the new AMG GLS 63 offers a luxurious and sporty cockpit with premium materials, carbon trim, AMG steering wheel, AMG performance displays, MB.OS operating system, Google-based navigation, high-resolution screens, ambient lighting, Nappa leather seats, ventilated and heated seats, rear entertainment screens, third-row seating and a very spacious trunk. The GLS 63 is one of the most impressive AMG SUVs because it combines V8 performance, luxury, comfort, space, technology and everyday usability in one big seven-seat performance SUV.
