Associated with a cyclonic circulation extending up to 9.4 km above mean sea level, this system has triggered continuous heavy rainfall across the state. In view of the torrential downpour, IMD has placed Odisha under a 'Red Alert'. Five districts—Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Sambalpur, and Sonepur—are on Red Alert for extremely heavy rainfall. Additionally, 8 districts have been issued an Orange Alert, while 17 other districts are under a Yellow Alert with warnings of heavy rain accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms. Residents are advised to stay safe and take necessary precautions.
