G. Verdi: “O Carlo, ascolta” from Don Carlo | Terence Liu

Concert de Vocal Salon 2026 蒙特利尔爱歌沙龙音乐会 2026 O Carlo, ascolta has been an important step in my vocal journey. Over the past month, I worked closely with my voice teacher and rehearsed several times with my pianist to prepare this aria. It became a real introduction to legato singing, diaphragm breathing, and the process of rebuilding technique from the ground up. The biggest lesson has been learning to let the breath carry the voice instead of pushing. That idea is finally starting to make sense to me, both intuitively and physically. I am grateful to Allen Zhai for inviting me to perform on short notice and for the opportunity to share the evening with other musicians who pursue this art with pure passion and consistent training. This year’s concert continues the spirit of the first Vocal Salon gathering in Spring 2025, and I look forward to returning again next year.
