ABOUT THE AUTHORS Gianfranco Manfredi was born in Senigallia (Italy) and lives in Milan, where he graduated in philosophy. A multimedia artist par excellence, he is also the author of over three hundred songs, several essays on music criticism and scripts for film and television. He made his comic book debut with the character Gordon Link, created for the publisher Dardo in 1991. Shortly thereafter, in 1994, he began working with Sergio Bonelli Editore, writing scripts for the series Dylan Dog and Nick Raider. In 1997, he created Mágico Vento, the iconic and long-running western series for which he wrote over 130 issues, until 2011. The success of the stories about the former American soldier who becomes a shaman for the Sioux led Manfredi to debut as a writer for Tex in 2005. In 2007, he developed the series Face Oculta, which had a direct sequel in 2011, with Shanghai Devil. In 2014, he was responsible for creating the miniseries Adam Wild, which featured some chapters drawn by Pedro Mauro. The partnership with the Brazilian artist extended to the projects Mugiko (2017) and Primavera de 68 (2018). Gianfranco returned to the character Mágico Vento in 2019, for a four-issue arc. Pedro Mauro was born in Nova Europa, in the interior of São Paulo. His first work with comics was a western series for the publisher Taika, in 1970. He created and drew the character Pancho for two years. He then moved to the advertising market as an illustrator, at agencies in São Paulo and New York, where he lived for twelve years. He returned to drawing comics in 2014, when he began his collaboration with Sergio Bonelli Editore, drawing two chapters of Adam Wild, by Gianfranco Manfredi. In 2016, he drew an album from the L’artdu Crime series, by Marc Omeyer and Olivier Berlion, for the publisher Glénat. Between 2017 and 2019, he independently published the albums Gatilho, Legado and Redenção, the result of a partnership with screenwriter Carlos Estefan. The trilogy of the “nameless gunman” was acclaimed by the public and specialized critics and received a definitive edition in 2021 by the publisher Pipoca & Nanquim.
