John Scofield brings the house down with the Allman Brothers Enhanced
In March of 2011 John Scofield guested with the Allman Brothers Band during their Beacon run. Although he had known and played with Warren, Derek and Oteil before, this was the first time he played with the Allman Brothers. Here is the tune: "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" and you can also find "Mountain Jam" on this channel. Thanks to Butch Trucks these concerts were streamed, and we have some extraordinary moments preserved for music history. Although I was in Europe, I felt like I had a front row seat. As luck would have it, I was able to do an extended interview with John Scofield, who is of course one of the most respected jazz guitarist on the scene today. This interview was done just days after this show and was done especially for blues/rock fans. Naturally we spoke about the ABB, a portion of that is included here after Liz Reed. Interview: https://www.allaboutjazz.com/talkin-blues-... for Allman Brothers fans, you will also find interviews with Derek Trucks, Jaimoe, Chuck Leavell, Oteil Burbridge, Scott Sharrard , Devon Allman, Susan Tedeschi, Jimmy Herring, and Jerry Jemmott. https://talking2musicians.com/
