Carolus Hacquart, Sonata in D minor, opus 2/6 - La Fiocco, live performance
An incredibly complex and beautiful piece, somewhat conservative, with elements of early and high baroque styles by the Flemish composer Carolus Hacquart (c. 1640-1701), born in Bruges, studied as a choirboy in Ghent, then moved to Amsterdam with his brother (composer Philips Hacquart) and possibly London towards the end of his life. Played here on tenor recorder, violin, and continuo at a live performance in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
