Double Play: Between two worlds | Mirela Pachou | TEDxNTUA

Have you ever wondered what it takes to straddle the line between two vastly different worlds? Meet Mirela Pachou, a trailblazer who embodies both the worlds of law and music. As a PhD Law graduate and one of Greece's leading young musicians, Mirela's journey takes us from Rhodes to Athens, from law to music, and from stop to play. She stands on the "borderline" between two worlds, offering a unique perspective on the power of our choices in shaping our futures. At TEDxNTUA 2022, Mirela takes the stage with a mission to shed light on this concept, sharing a speech that we will want to hear in "rePlay". Mirela Pachou was born and raised in Rhodes. Her involvement with music began at a very young age when her parents gave her a small piano as a gift for her birthday. At the age of 7 she started piano lessons. When she moved to Athens to study, she decided to deal with the accordion, which developed into a trademark of her performances. She graduated in Law from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens and in 2019 she completed her PhD in Public Law. In her first public appearance, she performed "Two Butterflies" on Miltos Paschalidis's album "Strangers in a Changing Place" and became widely known through their many years of collaboration. In 2014, she released her first album entitled "Mirela" by Ogdoo Music Group, which received a warm welcome. Ever since, she has collaborated with great names of the music scene such as Lavrentis Machairitsas, Dionysis Savvopoulos, Vassilis Papakonstantinou, Christos Thivaios, et al.
