Lake Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, is surrounded by volcanic cones, the highest of which is the Tzirate hill, which we climbed to appreciate the entire lake region, which is the cradle of the Purépecha culture. This incredible route will take you through beautiful pine, oak and coniferous forests. Dense vegetation provides long stretches of shade, however the increased elevation makes this route challenging. The Tzirate hill is very close to Morelia, Michoacán, where our guide friends from Cima Expediciones are from, who showed us the beauty of the ancient volcano.   / jorgeeduardodeleon
