🌴 Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman – Honest Family Review This place? Straight up stunning. Modern vibes, clean design, and a solid luxury feel the moment you walk in. But let’s talk real—because there are definitely some trade-offs. First off… that $75/night resort fee hits. And just when you think that’s wild, the Kimpton next door is charging $95/night 😅 so yeah, welcome to Cayman pricing. For families: our kids LOVED it… for about 2 days. After that, boredom started creeping in. So if you’re staying longer, you’ll want to plan activities off-property. 📍 Location Reality Check There’s a nice public beach right in front of the hotel, and the water is beautiful—clear, calm, and shallow (waist-deep for about 50 feet out, perfect for kids). But… from time to time, we did notice locals hanging out and smoking, which you could smell. Just something to be aware of. 🚗 Getting Around Walking? Not it. Distances are longer than they look, and pedestrian paths aren’t great. If you’re staying here, rent a car—it’ll upgrade your whole experience. 🍽️ Food + Costs Be ready… everything is expensive. Eating at the resort or nearby will run it up QUICK. This is not the place to freestyle your food budget. 🔥 Standout Moments The rooftop restaurant was a whole vibe—DJ, energy, great atmosphere on weekends for just the adults. The sparkling water dispenser near the ice machine was low-key elite. Unlimited cold sparkling water? Game changer Pool loungers were easy to get (huge win) The jacuzzi? 10/10 Beds were super comfortable 🏖️ Beach Club + Extras The walk to the beach club is beautiful, and the beach itself is a highlight. BUT: No non-motorized water sports included No access to the Kimpton splash park next door Jet ski pricing: about $125 USD for 30 minutes 🦟 Heads Up Mosquitoes are no joke—especially near the beach and walking paths. Bring bug spray if you plan to move around outdoors. 🌅 Room View We had a balcony facing the road with a partial lagoon view—very partial water view, but still nice to step out and catch the breeze. 💭 Final Take Beautiful property, great short stay, solid amenities—but not the most walkable and definitely not budget-friendly. If you come prepared (car, plans, bug spray, and budget), you’ll enjoy it.
