Just a few kilometers from the hustle and bustle of Istanbul, Pirinççi, where buffaloes graze in the pastures, offers a natural village life. Those who visit can breathe in the fresh air of nature and shop at local businesses selling natural milk and dairy products. In the fourth part of a feature report prepared by Anadolu Agency on the village life of Istanbul, where activities such as farming, animal husbandry, and beekeeping are carried out, the animal husbandry activities in Pirinççi, Eyüpsultan, are examined. The neighborhood, originally established as "First Village" because of its proximity to Istanbul, and whose name is said to have changed to Pirinççi through word of mouth with the settlement of immigrants from Thessaloniki, has 775 households and a population of 3,600. Said to be one of the largest villages in Istanbul in terms of area, while some parts of the neighborhood are occupied by factories, the majority consists of pastures where buffaloes, sheep, and goats graze. Those driving through the neighborhood can see the animals on the other side of the barriers after enjoying the natural scenery, and can buy products directly produced by the residents themselves, such as buffalo milk, yogurt, cream, goat cheese, red meat, and sausage, from local businesses along the roadside. Those who want to enjoy the village's green nature prefer this place for picnics on weekends. With the increase in buffalo breeding in recent years, the neighborhood is known as the village with the highest number of buffaloes in Istanbul.
