Jeff Buckley-Live at Sin-e, New Year's Day, 1996
01 Be My Husband (Nina Simone cover) 02 People's Parties (Joni Mitchell cover) 03 If You See Her, Say Hello (Bob Dylan cover) Bonus track: The Twelfth of Never (date unknown, supposedly Sin-é) From the description: "It's New Years' Eve, so Jeff must be at Sin-é, a tradition he continued until his death, in recognition of his humble beginnings there. His original gig at Sin-é was apparently arranged by singer Dorothy Scott (also Matt Johnson's one-time girlfriend, which led to his introduction to Buckley and his three-year residence behind the drums.) Scott was herself a fixture on the downtown NYC scene, and her voice - very reminiscent of Joni - is lovely on these rare recordings. Following his appearance at the Mercury Lounge Jeff grabbed his guitar and headed down to the coffee shop for this quick appearance. I have no information about the source of this show, recorded by an unknown audience member." About the version heard here: "The Johnny Mathis chestnut, "The Twelfth of Never" is found on both the official Sin-é and the "Every Monday Night" collection. This is a third, different, performance from an unknown date at Sin-é - it could be from either of the NYE shows there, 1994 or 1995, but at this point we'll probably never know."
