From September 2026, Timothy will begin two roles: Director of Music for the Steel City Choristers in Sheffield, and Assistant Director of Music and Cathedral Organist at Nottingham Cathedral. While Organ Scholar at Nottingham Cathedral, he studied Music at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2016. In Lincoln, Timothy contributes significantly to the daily liturgical life of the Cathedral, accompanying and directing the cathedral choirs, and playing an active role in the chorister training programme, encompassing repertoire learning, vocal technique, and music theory. As an active organ recitalist, Timothy enjoys presenting varied programmes in churches and cathedrals across the country, sharing both well-known and occasionally quirky repertoire. He has given recitals at the cathedrals of Bradford Cathedral, Lincoln Cathedral, Newcastle Cathedral, and Southwell Minster, as well as at major churches throughout the United Kingdom. Timothy is also in demand as an accompanist, serving as accompanist to Southwell Choral Society during his time in Southwell. He has helped prepare performances of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Joseph Haydn’s The Creation, Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem, and performed the harmonium part in Gioachino Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle. In Lincoln and Southwell he has accompanied performances of Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem and Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, highlights of his accompanying career to date. Beyond his work as an accompanist, Timothy is an active conductor and musical director. He directed the West Trent Churches Choir whilst at Southwell, a community ensemble serving the Benefice of West Trent, and assists in the management of Caelestis, a chamber choir founded in 2017 that sings services in cathedrals and major parish churches nationwide. Recent engagements have included the Chapel Royal, Selby Abbey, and the cathedrals of Bradford, Canterbury, Durham, Sheffield, Southwell, Ripon, and York. Timothy has also developed a career as a musical director and conductor in theatre, spanning both musical theatre and opera. His early love of Gilbert and Sullivan, fostered during his time at the University of Nottingham, led him to York, where he further established himself as a Musical Director. Outside of music, Timothy enjoys spending time in the countryside and exploring historic cities.
