The Opel Blitz truck (German for "lightning") is a German medium-duty truck, early models of which were actively used by the Wehrmacht during World War II. Opel Blitz trucks were used not only for transporting personnel and cargo, but also as chassis for 20-30mm anti-aircraft automatic cannons. Many special vehicles were created on this same chassis, including mobile radio stations, ambulances, various workshop vehicles, buses, and more. Various types of wooden and wood-metal bodies with varying side heights, benches, and tarpaulins, numerous versions of standard rectangular vans, tanks, and fire-fighting equipment were mounted on the chassis.
