Flight hopping up the Queensland coast | Q400 Rockhampton to Townsville via Mackay

Queensland has one of the most spectacular coastlines in the world. The relatively low cruising altitude of the Q400 means we get to enjoy the scenery in incredible detail. QantasLink operates a service which hops along the coast from Rockhampton to Cairns via Mackay and Townsville (sometimes called a milk run). In this video we explore the section between Rockhampton and Townsville. The journey begins in the modern terminal at Rockhampton Airport before boarding a 13-year-old Q400 for the two legs north along the coast. The huge rivers, numerous islands and glorious yet varied colours of the waterways, make for a jaw-dropping journey.
